FAQ – Dubai Family Photoshoot
Everything you need to know about booking your family photoshoot in Dubai.
Dubai is beautiful throughout the year. Winter brings mild weather and soft light. Spring means warm days and glowing sunsets along the waterfront. Autumn covers the city in pleasant temperatures and has fewer tourists. Summer adds vibrant colors and iconic golden light, especially at sunrise. Each season has its own charm for family photos.
For the best selection of photographers and times, booking 2 to 4 weeks ahead is ideal. Winter and spring are especially busy, so families planning sessions during these months should reserve early. Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible but availability can be limited.
Most family sessions in Dubai last around 45 minutes to 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes. From experience, kids usually start to feel tired or distracted after about an hour, so this is the sweet spot to keep things fun and relaxed. The exact timing depends a little on your children’s ages, and as parents you probably know best what will work for them.
Family photoshoot prices in Dubai vary depending on the photographer’s experience, session length, location, and any extras such as wardrobe, props, or video. Most family sessions last around one hour and include a selection of professionally edited images. At Travaya, our packages start at 441 AUD – giving you timeless, elegant photos that celebrate your family, without compromise.
Yes. If your chosen location requires a ticket, such as certain viewpoints, museums, or private gardens, you will need to cover the photographer’s entry as well. Most outdoor public locations, like Jumeirah Beach or Burj Park Downtown, are free.
Coordinated outfits work best. Think similar tones or complementary colors, rather than identical matching. Soft colors like pastels or neutrals look beautiful against Dubai’s modern skyline and sandy beaches. Comfortable shoes are important, as most sessions involve walking between photo spots.
Not at all, at least not in the stiff, formal sense. We keep things relaxed and playful. During the session we might try a few fun poses, but we always adjust to how the kids are feeling in the moment. If they’re excited to try a group pose, great\! if they’d rather hold hands, ride on shoulders, or simply run around together, that works too. Every family is different, and your photographer will go with the flow so the photos feel natural and fun for everyone.
Yes. Our photographers have lots of experience with children and know how to keep things fun and relaxed. If anyone starts to feel a little tired, overwhelmed, or even needs a quick cry, we can always pause for a short break. Nothing has to be forced, and sessions move at your family’s pace so everyone stays comfortable and happy.
In winter, golden hour usually falls between 5:00 and 5:30 PM. In spring and autumn it arrives around 6:00 to 6:30 PM. Morning golden hour, from 6:00 to 7:00 AM, is also a fantastic choice for families who prefer quieter streets and softer light.
Why Dubai is the Perfect Place for a Family Photoshoot
What makes a family photoshoot in Dubai so special?
Why Dubai is the Perfect Family Photography Destination
Dubai is a city full of variety, which makes it perfect for family photos. Imagine your kids running along the waterfront paths of Dubai Marina, or the whole family strolling together across Burj Park with the skyline behind you. Jumeirah Beach offers wide open sands, fountains, and calm waterfront views, while Al Fahidi gives you a storybook backdrop of traditional architecture. The city blends history and everyday fun in a way few places do. One moment you are surrounded by grand modern architecture, the next you are chasing birds in a lively square or sharing ice cream on a palm-lined street. Dubai is not only beautiful, it is family-friendly and full of energy, and that spirit shines through in your photos.
Sunset Family Photos by the Waterfront
At sunset, Dubai becomes pure magic. The lights of the Marina shimmer, the city begins to sparkle, and the waterfront glows with reflections of the sky. It is the perfect setting for families to slow down after a day of exploring. Maybe you walk along the promenade, stop to watch the boats, or simply sit together and take in the view. Photographers love this time because the light is soft and gentle, perfect for capturing genuine connection. The images feel cinematic yet real, a reminder of a simple evening in Dubai that your family will always look back on with a smile.
Playful Family Adventures on Jumeirah Beach
For families with young children, Jumeirah Beach is one of Dubai’s best photo spots. Wide open sands, fountains, playgrounds, and tree-lined paths make it easy for kids to burn energy and enjoy themselves. Photos here are full of movement, laughter, and color. From siblings chasing each other to parents enjoying a quiet moment on a bench, the beach offers endless opportunities for natural, joyful photos. It is also spacious, making it safe and stress free for families with little ones.
Creating Your Dubai Family Story
Every family is unique, and your photos should celebrate that. Some families prefer posed group shots with iconic city views, while others want completely candid sessions full of laughter and play. Your Dubai family photographer will capture the small details, the way your children hold your hand, the sparkle in their eyes when they laugh, and the closeness you share as a family. Dubai provides the perfect canvas for all of this: a mix of dramatic cityscapes, quiet green spaces, and warm light that makes every moment glow. These photos will become part of your family’s story, a way to look back on the laughter and closeness of this stage in life, and to share with your children as they grow older.
