Start With the Moment You Want
Photography, help with the surprise and a private setting can be sold separately or together. Those different offers do not give us a reliable citywide average. A short photoshoot and an evening on a yacht are different experiences, even when both leave you with photographs of the answer.
Start with what matters most to you. Would you like someone to help arrange the arrival and timing? Is being away from other visitors essential? Do you want a few portraits afterwards, or a longer outing? Those choices will make a price much easier to judge. You don’t need the biggest package to make the moment feel like the two of you.
Published Prices to Help You Compare
Travaya Budapest photoshoots: our packages currently list €255 for 30 minutes and 15 edited photographs, €293 for 60 minutes and 30 photographs, and €350 for 90 minutes and 45 photographs. We help with the package, location, timing and meeting point, then arrange your photographer. For a surprise proposal, we also agree the arrival plan, a discreet photographer position and a practical alternative beforehand. Special access or other arrangements need confirming separately. You can see the current details on our Budapest photoshoot page.
András Grausz: the Essential proposal package lists HUF 89,000 for one hour and 40 edited photographs chosen by you. Optional short phone videos cost HUF 10,000; next-day delivery costs HUF 20,000 when available; hair and makeup cost HUF 25,000. These are separate extras, so add only the ones you want. See the published proposal packages.
BudapestPic: Essential costs €290, covering the proposal at one fixed location, limited advance guidance, up to an hour of portraits afterwards and all edited photographs. Planned costs €350, adding more help with the location, timing and surprise. Signature costs €490, with added flexibility, backup decisions, longer coverage and priority delivery in 24–48 hours. The Planned card says 60–90 minutes, while the FAQ says sessions do not use fixed minutes. Have the agreed coverage confirmed. See BudapestPic’s package details.
The Budapest Proposal: the €700 standard package combines private yacht use, planning and photography. See the private-cruise packages.
Each supplier has its own packages and terms. Compare the help you would enjoy having, as well as the price.
What Are You Paying Someone to Arrange?
With a photography booking, check how much planning comes with it. Some offers focus on the session itself. Others include help choosing the place and quietly arranging the surprise. With a boat or venue, check how long the space is yours and what comes with it.
Ask what happens before, during and after the question. A planning chat is different from someone arranging flowers, booking a venue or managing a boat departure. If those things matter, they should be named in the quote. A higher price may be worthwhile because it takes work off your hands, gives you more privacy or leaves more time together. More photographs are only one part of the choice.
Give Every Cost a Clear Place
- Included: the supplier clearly says it comes with the price.
- An extra: there is a separate charge for something you want.
- Still to ask: the quote hasn’t answered the question yet.
That last group is useful. A missing detail doesn’t automatically mean “free”, “not included” or “hidden fee”. It means you need an answer before adding up the budget. Check location fees, flowers, transport, taxes and any evening or fast-delivery charge this way.
Photographs need a little care too. Forty pictures you choose and “all edited images” are different promises. Ask who chooses the final photographs, what editing covers and when they arrive. A first preview can be lovely for sharing the news, but it isn’t always the full gallery. Extra pictures, prints or an album may have their own prices.
With András Grausz, for example, travel within Budapest is included, while any required location-permit fee is extra. His FAQ also explains that you choose favourites from a gallery before the selected images are edited. That helps clarify what you are comparing with another package. See his booking and delivery answers.
The Place Can Change the Budget
If privacy is essential, ask about a setting you can actually reserve and what that reservation covers. Ordinary visitor access, a professional photoshoot and a decorated proposal can have different rules. Flowers, candles, a picnic table or furniture may need permission as well as a separate price. Ask who handles delivery, setup and clearing everything away. For decorations, ask for a price based on your flowers, setup and chosen place; the packages here do not give us a standalone decor price to use.
Think about the journey too. Gellért Hill has a real climb. If you would rather arrive feeling fresh, check a suitable way uphill and include any transport cost in your plan. The route still needs to work for your shoes and walking needs. A short, comfortable outing can feel much nicer than spending the whole lead-up watching the time.
You can keep the idea simple and still make it personal. Choose the view you both love, enough help to feel comfortable and time to enjoy what happens next. Dinner, flowers and a boat are choices you can add because you want them, not boxes every proposal has to tick.
A Private-Yacht Example: €700, or €750 With the Night Charge
Its listed €50 night supplement makes €750 for that package with the supplement. That is a worked subtotal, not a confirmed final quote. Ask when the night charge applies, how long the standard cruise lasts, whether taxes are included and what any requested extras cost.
The same provider also lists:
- €1,000: a 90-minute cruise with a cold platter.
- €1,250: a two-hour option headed “with snacks”.
- €2,000: a two-hour dinner experience.
Confirm the food and drinks for the option you choose. These are different packages from one supplier, not average Budapest boat prices. Check the current cruise details.
BudapestPic also mentions a €700 boat proposal. Both sites name Ihsan Unuvar. Treat them as offers involving the same photographer when comparing typical prices.
The lovely part of a private boat may simply be the space to enjoy the river together. If that matters more to you than having lots of different city backgrounds, it is worth comparing the whole evening. If you would prefer a walk through Budapest, a city session may fit your day better.
Deposits and Weather: Settle These Before the Surprise
András Grausz’s FAQ lists a HUF 20,000 deposit, with the balance paid after the session. It distinguishes severe weather from lighter conditions that do not automatically allow rescheduling. If the photographer cannot offer another time during your stay, the deposit is refunded; if an offered replacement does not work for you, the stated policy instead keeps it as credit towards a future shoot. Read the current weather and booking terms before agreeing.
BudapestPic lists a 50% deposit after the date, time and approach are agreed. Its suggested three-to-six-week lead time is that supplier’s advice, not a rule for all Budapest bookings. See its booking process.
For any quote, confirm who decides whether the weather allows the session, which changes are possible and what happens to money already paid. For a boat, check the sailing arrangements too. An indoor backup, a new date and a refund are different answers; it helps to know which one your booking actually offers.
Your Short Quote Checklist
- The planning help, exact location and any private use included.
- Time before and after the proposal, plus whether walking or transfers count towards it.
- The number of edited photos, who chooses them and the delivery time.
- Access, decorations, transport and other requested extras.
- Taxes and any night, weekend, holiday or priority-delivery charges.
- The deposit, balance deadline and how long the quote stays valid.
- What happens with cancellation, late arrival, date changes and weather.
Keep the ring, flights, hotel and celebration meal on a separate part of your trip budget, unless a meal is expressly part of the proposal package. That way, you can see what the moment itself costs and what you’re spending on the rest of your Budapest adventure.
Then leave a little room in the day to enjoy it. A proposal doesn’t have to lead straight into the next booking. There may be a very happy phone call to make, a view to look at all over again and a ring that suddenly needs admiring quite a lot.

Questions About Budapest Proposal Costs
Start with the experience you want, then compare packages that cover similar things. A photoshoot, help arranging a surprise and a private setting may be separate costs or part of one offer. The dated examples above are a starting point; ask for a complete quote for your date.
At the check date, our Budapest packages are €255 for 30 minutes and 15 edited photographs, €293 for 60 minutes and 30 photographs, and €350 for 90 minutes and 45 photographs. Tell us about the proposal before booking so we can agree the plan and clarify any separate requirements.
It depends on the offer. Check which arrangements the supplier will make before the day and what remains yours to organise. Location advice does not by itself include venue hire, flowers or other extras.
No. Confirm access and the rules for your exact plans. A visitor ticket, permission for professional photography, decorations and exclusive use are different things. Public seating also cannot be assumed to be available.
Only if the quote says they are separate. When both are already included, adding them again counts the same services twice. Check the full list of inclusions and any supplements.
Ask for the supplier’s written policy before booking. It should explain who makes the weather decision, whether the booking can move and what happens to your deposit if the session cannot go ahead.
