How to Gift a Wedding Album Before the Photos Are Ready

You’d love to give them a wedding album, even though the photos are still to come. There’s a lovely way to do it! We’ll help you choose what to give, write a warm card and leave the photos, cover and pages with the couple. A gift to open now, with more to look forward to later!

The gift can arrive before the pictures

You’ve found a present that feels right for the couple: a book of their wedding day, with all their favourite people and little moments inside. The day may not even have happened yet, but the gift can still be something they open and understand now.

Our wedding-album gift card lets you choose an amount towards the album. The couple makes the book choices with us once the photos are ready and confirms the exact price before we go ahead. They know what you’ve given, and the personal part of making the album is still waiting for them.

Picture them opening your card over coffee or in a quiet moment around the wedding. There’s a little message from you, and a lovely reason to look forward to the photos arriving. Later, they may find pictures they didn’t know were taken and choose the ones they can’t stop looking at.

Your part is giving a clear, thoughtful present. Their part is deciding which pieces of the day belong in it. That leaves room for all the lovely things nobody could choose before the photographs exist.

Tip: Keep the gift clear and the choices theirs. Say what you’re giving now, then let the couple choose their photographs, book and finished pages once the full set arrives.

Choose what you would love to give

Start with an amount that feels comfortable. With a Travaya album gift card, that money goes towards the book the couple chooses and agrees with us. It is a contribution rather than a fixed album package. They can pay any difference if their chosen book costs more.

If you would love to pay for the whole album, talk through the plan and budget first. The size, pages, cover and finish can change the price. Agree what you will cover, so the couple has a lovely promise and everyone knows what it means. Knowing those details gives everyone a clear place to begin.

A gift card gives the couple credit with the company named on it. Check the amount, where it can be used and when it expires. Put those details with the card, so the couple has a clear place to start when their photos arrive.

For a shared Travaya gift, the amount is split equally between 2–10 people, each with their own payment link. The card is emailed to the couple after everyone has paid. Agree the amount together, include everyone’s names and let the couple see the lovely thought from you all.

Put the gift card and a few words from you in the envelope

When you pay for the gift yourself, you can email the card to yourself or the couple after payment, schedule it for later or download a PDF. A printed card with your handwritten note gives them something to open. If you’re sending it digitally, your message can have its own place alongside the gift.

For an album contribution, you might write: “We’ve given this towards your wedding album. When your photos arrive, choose the ones you love and make a book that feels like you two. We hope it brings back lots of lovely little moments whenever you open it.” Add the actual amount, or let the gift card show it clearly.

For a shorter note: “For your favourite photos and the bits of the day you’ll want to keep. We’d love to help give them a home.” Then add a line explaining that the couple can make their album choices with Travaya once the photos are ready.

If you have agreed to pay for the whole book, describe that actual agreement. “We’d love to give you the album we’ve talked about, with the details and budget we’ve agreed.” They can then enjoy choosing within a plan everyone understands.

Add a memory or wish that sounds like you. You might mention the people coming from far away, a little moment you shared or how much you’re looking forward to celebrating. Give the card when they have a quiet minute to read it. Your lovely words don’t need to compete with the band.

Let the couple enjoy the personal choices

You can make the gift personal without picking the cover or a favourite portrait. A note from you is one part of the present. Finding the pictures that feel like them is another, and that’s a lovely part to leave with the couple.

They may choose a quiet photo from the morning, a face laughing at dinner or the windswept picture everyone almost scrolled past. Their favourites might be quite different from the ones you would pick. Each can hold a small memory you wouldn’t know just from looking.

Let them choose the photos, order, cover, names, date and final design unless they’ve asked you to help. Private or emotional moments can stay out of the book if that feels right to them. An album can tell their day without including every part of it.

You can still offer a lovely little extra. Tuck a letter into the card, mention a photo you would love them to consider or offer to look through the family pictures together. Keep it an offer they can take up if they fancy it. The book can carry the thought behind your gift while staying completely theirs.

What happens when the full photos arrive

Once the couple has the complete wedding photos, they can choose the pictures and discuss the album with us. We help with size, pages, cover and finish, then confirm the exact price. They can see what the gift amount covers and decide whether they would like to add anything.

They share the full-size files or a suitable gallery, with permission to have those pictures printed with us. Then we make the first complete design. Suddenly there’s a book to look through together: the morning, the ceremony, the little faces in the background and the moments they keep turning back to.

The couple can tell us what they would like changed. Swap a photo, give a favourite more space or change how the pictures sit together. There is no fixed limit on changes before final approval. We only start making the album after they approve the design.

Changes to the book’s size, pages or finish can affect the price and timing, and we confirm those details with them. We agree the expected making and delivery plan for the actual album. Your gift card doesn’t need to promise a finished-book date before the photos and choices are ready.

Start with the right photo files

The couple can use photos from their own wedding photographer. They need the original full-size pictures or a suitable gallery, with permission to have them printed by the chosen maker. If their agreement is unclear, they can ask the photographer before sharing the selection.

We help them with the best way to send the files. Small copies saved from messages, social media or screenshots may not have enough detail for a big printed page. The full-size versions give us a better place to begin.

Keep the complete set of original photos safely too, with a backup. Not every picture will go into the album, but there may be plenty they’ll enjoy looking at another time. Choosing the book doesn’t mean choosing which photos they get to keep.

The surprise can be the gift, with the book still theirs to choose

The lovely reveal can happen when they open your card. They discover that you’d like to help their wedding photos become something they can hold. There can still be plenty to look forward to: choosing the pages together and seeing the finished book arrive later.

There’s room for plans to change too. A Travaya gift card is valid for 24 months. The couple can use the credit towards prints, wall art or a photoshoot instead if they prefer. Any unspent balance stays on the card until it is used or expires, and it can go across more than one purchase.

Ask what they would enjoy if they’re unsure about an album. A print for their wall may be just the thing. The thought behind the present is still there: you’ve given them a way to enjoy their pictures, with the final choice in their hands.

Save the give-now, choose-later plan

Keep the gift-card words and album steps handy for the wedding you’re looking forward to.

Save for later

One clear present, with a lovely part still to come

Before you give it, check that the gift amount, card and details for using it are clear. If several people joined in, include everyone’s names. Keep your own payment receipt safely with you, and give the couple the card they need to start.

Then let your message be warm and simple. They don’t have to choose all their favourite photos today. When the full set arrives, they can open it together and start finding the moments that will make the book theirs.

Give their future wedding photos a place at home

Choose an amount towards their album and add your own words. They choose the photos, and we help bring the pages together. A lovely gift for now, with a book to look forward to!
