Why a Wedding Album Can Be Better After the Wedding

The full wedding photos give you a lovely place to begin
That’s a lovely reason to make your wedding album after the wedding, once the full edited set is ready. The first few preview photos can be beautiful, but they won’t show every part of the day. Waiting lets you choose from the whole story, including little moments you didn’t know the photographer had caught.
Ask your photographer when they expect to send the complete photos. Their own estimate or agreement is the guide, rather than a set number of weeks that should work for everyone. You can enjoy the early pictures now and save the album choices for when the rest arrives.
It also gives the book its own bit of time. You don’t have to choose a cover colour between the seating plan and the last dress fitting. Later, you can put on something comfortable, order your favourite food and look through the day together. Choosing the photos can become an evening you’ve been looking forward to.
Tip:Â Giving the album as a present? Our wedding-album gift card lets you give an amount towards it now. The couple chooses their photos and book with us later, then confirms the exact album and price before it is made.
Leave room for the little moments you missed
Look through the photos with your partner. You spent parts of the same day in different places, so you may each have a few surprises to share. One of you remembers exactly why everyone was laughing. The other finally gets to see it. Those small discoveries can help you choose a book that holds both your memories.
You don’t have to choose every picture straight away. Save the ones you keep going back to and talk about why you love them. A photo might look quite ordinary to anyone else and still be the one that makes you both stop. There’s room for that kind of favourite.
If you’re giving the book, leave this part with the couple unless they’ve asked for help. You can make a lovely gift without guessing which family pictures feel private or which small moment deserves a whole page. They’ll know the faces and details they want in their book.
Choose your photos in three easy steps
On your next look, put similar photos beside each other. Perhaps there are five versions of the same kiss and one has the little smile you prefer. Keep that one and save the others with your digital photos. Your book doesn’t need them all to tell you how lovely the moment was.
Then look at the day as a whole. Are there pictures from the parts you want to remember, from getting ready to the ceremony and the celebrations afterwards? A view of the place, a few faces around the table and a favourite portrait can each bring something different to the pages.
There isn’t one perfect number of photos. It depends on the book size, the number of pages and how you would like the pictures arranged. Some favourites may fill a page, while little moments can sit together. We help you see how the choices work in the design, so the book has room for the photos you both love.
See the whole design before the album is made
Share the original full-size photos or a suitable gallery, with permission to have them printed with us. If you’re unsure about that permission, check your photography agreement or ask your photographer. A small copy from a message or social post may not have enough detail for a big printed page. We help you with the best way to share the right files.
Then we make the first complete design. For the first time, you can see how the photos look together in a book. This is a good moment to look through it with your partner, check names or dates on the cover and notice which pictures you want to swap or give more space.
You can ask us for changes without a fixed limit before final approval. We only start making the album once you’ve approved the design. If you change the size, pages or finish, we confirm any price and timing changes too. Delivery details are agreed with you, so there’s a clear plan for the book you have chosen.
Give a lovely gift before the book is ready
Be clear about what you’re giving. A Travaya album gift card is money towards their chosen book, rather than a fixed album package. Write the amount in the card, and let them know they will choose the album and confirm its price with us. If you want to pay for the whole book, agree the budget and details first.
When paying yourself, you can email the card to yourself or the couple after payment, schedule it for later or download a PDF to give in person. Our group option shares the gift equally between 2–10 people, each with their own payment link. That card is emailed to the couple once everyone has paid.
The gift card is valid for 24 months. They can use the credit for prints, wall art or a photoshoot instead if they prefer, and any unspent money stays on the card until it is used or expires. There’s room for the gift to become the thing they would most enjoy.
Later, opening the finished album can be another lovely moment. They helped choose what went inside, and now they have the book in their hands. You might even get to look through it with them and hear the story behind the photo you hadn’t noticed before.
Check what their wedding photography already includes
If their package includes album or print credit, ask that photographer how it can be used. It belongs to that photographer’s own offer and does not automatically pay towards a Travaya album. They may let the couple use it for extra pages, a larger book or another copy, but their own terms decide what is possible.
Once you know, you can choose a gift that adds something they would like. Perhaps they’ve mentioned smaller books for parents or a print for the wall. Or perhaps they would enjoy a different present altogether. Their wishes are a much better starting point than trying to make a second album fit.
A small plan for getting the album made
Find the pictures you both love. Make your first list, choose between similar shots and check that the parts of the day you want are there. Keep all the original digital photos safely, even when they won’t all go in the book.
Choose the book and agree the price. Size, pages, materials and extra copies can change the cost. Tell us what you would like and what you want to spend, then confirm the details together.
Look through the design. We make the first version with the full-size photos you have permission to print. Check the pictures, order and cover details, then ask for any changes before you approve it.
Agree delivery and look forward to opening it. Once you’ve given final approval, the album can be made. It’s a little plan with something lovely at the end: your wedding day, waiting on the shelf for the next time you feel like opening it.

A few questions about making the album later
Simple answers for couples and gift givers.
A good time to begin choosing is when the complete edited photos arrive. Ask your own photographer when those are expected, then choose the pictures together. The album is ordered once you have agreed the book, price and final design. There is no single number of weeks that fits every wedding or maker.
Yes. You can give a gift card or a clear promise first, then let the couple choose the photos later. A Travaya album gift card is money towards their chosen album, rather than a fixed package. They confirm the actual book and its price with us before it is made.
The couple should usually choose, unless they have asked someone else to make the book for them. We help arrange the pictures into a design, and they can ask for changes before final approval. Personal moments, family photos and the final choices remain theirs.
There is no set number. Start with the pictures you both love, choose between similar photos and include the parts of the day you want to remember. The book size, page count and design decide how much room there is. Some photos can have a page of their own while others sit together.
The gift announcement can be a lovely surprise. Give a card with a personal message, then leave the photo choices, cover and final design with the couple. That way you can give something thoughtful now while they make the finished book feel like theirs.
Original full-size photos or a suitable gallery, with permission to have them printed by the chosen maker. If the photography agreement is unclear, ask the photographer. We help the couple share the right files, rather than using small copies from social media or a message.
You can make the later timing part of the gift: tell the couple what you are giving and that they can choose after the photos arrive. A warm note gives them something to open now. The finished book can then be another lovely moment to enjoy together.
