Pack for the little bit of Bangkok you have planned
Begin with the part of Bangkok you are going to enjoy. Think about that walk, who is coming and the time of day. A short riverside session asks for different things from a family morning or a proposal you have been planning for weeks. Once you know the route, it becomes much easier to choose what comes with you.
Put the everyday things you need together first. Then add anything the place or your family needs, followed by one small personal thing if you want it. Try carrying the packed bag around your room. You will be carrying it between photos too, so choose a size you are happy to keep with you through the whole walk.
The few things you will be glad you brought
Water and shoes you know. Bring water you can reach easily, and wear shoes you have already walked in. Think about the whole route, including the walk from your drop-off point. If you want different shoes for some pictures, agree where you can change and how you will carry the spare pair. Your favourite photo shoes can still come along; they just need to fit the day you have planned.
A few familiar touch-up things. Tissues, blotting paper, a hair tie or the lip colour you already wear may be all you need. Pick the things you would normally use during a warm day out. Keep them together in one small pouch so you can find them during a pause. You can enjoy the doors, river views and little corners along the way without searching through a large beauty bag each time.
A little something of your own. Perhaps there is a flower you would like to bring, your child’s much-loved book or a tiny pair of shoes for the baby you are expecting. Tell your photographer why you chose it and whether you would like it in a few photos. It is also lovely to come with just yourselves. You can choose one thing you love and leave the rest of the space free.

What changes with your Bangkok photoshoot route?
A Talat Noi walk. Water, comfortable shoes and a small bag are a good start for the lanes and painted shopfronts. Save your meeting point so you can enjoy the walk from the moment you find your photographer. These are working streets with homes and shops. Time in a park. Save the agreed gate as well as the park name. If you are bringing children, add the everyday things they may need during that walk. A favourite book might be a lovely extra if they already enjoy taking it out. A picnic can be a nice plan for afterwards, but a basket, blanket and food all need carrying during the photos. Decide which part of the morning you are packing for before bringing it all.
The river, a pier or a boat. Keep the exact meeting pin, booking details and any ticket easy to reach. A private changing room, a place to leave things and permission to take photos in a lobby or on a terrace depend on the place and what you have booked. Once you know what is available, you can plan your clothes and extras around it. Otherwise, come ready for the session with the same small bag you would take for a walk.
A day when rain is possible. Look at the weather for your date and bring a compact umbrella if it suits the plan. A clear or plain light-coloured one is a simple choice if you would like it in the pictures. Save the contact details and the backup plan you have agreed. A few extras for the people coming with you
For a family morning, add what your children already use when you go out: water, a suitable snack, wipes or a familiar toy or book. Keep the things you may need first within reach. Tell Travaya about pushchairs, walking limits and any pauses you would like to allow for, so the route suits your family. A toy can come along for comfort even if it never appears in a photograph.
For a babymoon, start with your comfort and the walking you have agreed. Water and familiar shoes belong near the top of the list. Agree where the bag will be while you take photos
A friend who is joining the outing may be happy to hold a small bag while you take some photos. At a hotel or studio, there may be a place to leave things if that has been confirmed. For a walking route, plan on carrying your own bag between stops and agree how to keep it with you during the pictures. Keep your valuables with someone you trust while you take the photos.
A quick check before leaving your room helps: can one of you carry the bag comfortably, and can you find the phone and water without unpacking it? If there are several bags, think through who will take each one. Then you can arrive knowing how the practical part of the session will work.
The extras worth thinking about before you pack
Flowers, signs and decorations need a little planning of their own. If you want balloons, confetti or a larger flower arrangement, discuss the exact items before bringing them. Who will carry and set them up? Does the place allow them, and who will clear them away? Save space in your bag until you know what belongs in your session.
