A Family Photoshoot Around Lisbon’s Alfama

With their older children, this Portuguese family explored Alfama for photographs together. Tiled walls, city views and individual portraits brought everyone’s personality into the collection.

Family photographs as the children grow older

This Portuguese family joined us with their older children for photographs around Alfama. Their family photoshoot in Lisbon combined time together with individual portraits, using the neighbourhood’s tiled walls, winding streets and the views at Miradouro de Santa Luzia as a backdrop. The collection gives each person a place in the story, alongside photographs of the whole family together.

Alfama’s tiles and rooftop views

Blue Portuguese tiles, green patterned walls and colourful doorways brought different textures into the shoot. The family walked together beside the tile panels and paused for portraits at the viewpoint. Beneath flowering branches, they sat close on a bench for another family photograph. The settings change through the collection, preserving a little of Alfama around them while keeping the four of them at its centre.

Photographs of the parents, too

Alongside the family frames, the parents made portraits together by the viewpoint railing and against patterned tiles. They smiled at each other, held hands and paused for an embrace. These photographs sit beside parent-and-child moments and portraits of the two children together, giving the collection different combinations of the same family. Individual frames make room for each child’s own expression and personality as well.
