Start with the Prague You’d Love to Remember

Maybe you’ve been dreaming of Charles Bridge for months. Perhaps it’s the small streets and colourful houses that made you book the trip. Or you simply want a few beautiful photos together, with room to enjoy the day. That’s a lovely place to begin. The setting should feel like a part of Prague you’re happy to spend time in.

For old stone and famous views, start with Charles Bridge and the nearby water. For lively squares and colourful buildings, look at Old Town. Kampa and Malá Strana bring smaller streets and sweet corners, while Hradčany gives you grand buildings and views from higher up. Petřín, Letná and Střelecký Island add trees, paths and a different pace.

Choose one area that makes you think, “Oh, I’d love to go there.” Then think about who’s joining you, how much walking feels comfortable and whether you enjoy busy places. We can help turn that first idea into a route that suits your Travaya photoshoot. You can leave the exact meeting point and timing until we’ve talked through the places you love.

Charles Bridge: A Famous Prague Moment

If Charles Bridge is the picture you’ve had in your head, there’s plenty to fall for when you arrive. Statues stand along the old stone path, lamps lead towards the towers and the river opens out on both sides. It feels like a real arrival in Prague, with streets to explore at either end and the castle rising beyond the roofs.

Being on the bridge brings all those details close. You’re among the statues and stone, with people enjoying the same famous crossing. Seeing it from beside the river gives you something different: the arches, water and towers become part of the view behind you. Both can be beautiful. Think about whether you love the feeling of crossing the bridge or the sight of it stretching across the river.

The bridge can be busy, even early. If being photographed among lots of people feels uncomfortable, tell us before we plan the session. A nearby public spot by the water may suit you better. Our Charles Bridge guide shows the difference between the bridge itself, Kampa and the views near Cihelná.

Kampa and Malá Strana: Little Streets to Fall For

Kampa makes a lovely choice when you’re drawn to the smaller things. There’s the Čertovka canal, houses beside the water and old stone around the foot of Charles Bridge. The steps and arches have their own charm, and the river is close by when you want a wider view. It’s a part of Prague that rewards a bit of wandering.

The nearby streets of Malá Strana bring colourful walls, doors and roofs into the story. You might love the famous bridge, then find that a small street is the place you’re most excited to have in your pictures. Those less expected settings can feel wonderfully personal. A holiday photo doesn’t need the biggest landmark to bring back the day.

This area can work well for a connected walk with several different settings. Some routes include stone steps and uneven paths, so tell us about pushchairs or any walking you’d like to avoid. Keeping to a small part of the neighbourhood leaves time to enjoy the little places between the photos too.

Old Town: Colour, Towers and City Life

Old Town is a lovely match if you enjoy the energy of being right in the centre. Around the square are colourful house fronts, the towers of Týn Church and the famous Astronomical Clock. Turn into a nearby street and the grand view becomes something closer: a doorway, a row of windows, a bend between old houses. There’s plenty of variety within the same area.

Old Town suits a holiday spent happily looking up at buildings and wondering what’s down the next street. You can have the great towers nearby and then a smaller, colourful corner just around the bend. For a solo trip or time with people you love, that mix makes a lovely reminder of exploring Prague.

People gather around the clock’s hourly show. If it’s an important part of your plans, tell us so we can consider the timing. The nearby streets offer a different feel when the space around the clock gets busy.

Hradčany and Prague Castle: A Grand Setting Above the City

Love the idea of Prague’s old buildings rising around you? Hradčany, the castle district, has squares, old entrances and streets that make even a short walk feel special. Within the castle grounds, St. Vitus Cathedral rises above the courtyards, giving you another wonderful building to look up at. This is a lovely direction to explore when grand architecture is what drew you to Prague.

There’s room for smaller details here as well. A doorway or a stretch of old wall can be just as appealing as the whole building. Choosing one part of the district gives you time to enjoy it, without trying to fit the castle, hill and river into the same short outing. If you’ve been looking forward to wearing something a little special, these old streets make a lovely setting for that part of your trip.

The district has slopes, steps and uneven stone surfaces. The castle grounds, buildings and gardens also have different access rules and opening hours. We’ll check the exact setting and any photography permission needed before confirming it. Entry to the grounds does not include every interior or garden.

Petřín or Letná: Trees and Room for the View

Petřín is a lovely choice when the green side of Prague appeals to you. Paths cross the hill among trees and gardens, with glimpses of the city between them. Benches give you a place to enjoy the view for a while. For a couple or family who would happily spend an afternoon among trees, this can feel like a very natural part of the holiday.

Letná gives you a wider look across the city. Its paths and trees lead towards views over the river, bridges and roofs below. If the thought of seeing Prague spread out behind you makes you smile, this may be your favourite. There’s something lovely about recognising a bridge you crossed earlier, now much smaller down by the water.

Petřín is our starting suggestion for green paths and smaller views; Letná for a broader river panorama. Both are large hillside areas, so a clear meeting place and a manageable route matter. Flowers, leaf colour and access to particular gardens change through the year, so photos from another season are inspiration rather than a promise.

Legion Bridge and Střelecký Island: Water and Trees Together

This pairing is lovely if you can’t quite choose between the river and somewhere green. Legion Bridge, or Most Legií, gives you open water and the city along it. Below is Střelecký Island, also called Shooter’s Island, with tall trees and paths beside the river. The National Theatre is nearby, adding another beautiful building to this small part of Prague.

The change from bridge to island is what makes the area so appealing. One moment you have the wide river around you; the next, the trees make the city feel a little further away. This couple’s photoshoot around Legion Bridge, the island and the National Theatre shows how the places can sit together in one afternoon.

The island has opening hours, and events can change how busy it feels. Steps and a lift link it with the bridge. These details need checking for your route, especially if you rely on the lift.

Make It Comfortable for Everyone Joining You

For a couple, the choice might begin with a shared favourite: the bridge you’re excited to see, a grand street or the water. For a solo trip, it might be the place that best matches your own way of exploring. Choose somewhere you’d enjoy even if you weren’t having photographs taken.

With children, grandparents or anyone who needs an easier pace, a compact area often makes the day more enjoyable. Tell us about pushchairs, steps, hills and how far everyone is happy to walk. A route with a few nearby backgrounds leaves more time for being together and less time getting from one place to another.

If a photoshoot feels a little new or awkward, that’s useful to share too. Some people love a busy square; others would rather begin somewhere less exposed to passing crowds. We’ll help choose the setting and your photographer will give you friendly guidance. You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do.

A Simple Plan, with Room for the Day

Start with one main setting and, if time allows, a nearby place that adds something different. Charles Bridge and Kampa are a natural pair. An Old Town square and its surrounding streets keep you within one neighbourhood. Legion Bridge and the island combine a wide view with trees beside the water. The castle and river are farther apart, so that combination needs more thought about time and travel.

Comfortable shoes make moving between places easier, even if you bring another pair for the photographs. A coat or light layer can help beside the river or on a windy hill. Wet stone can be slippery, and rain or strong sun may change which part of a route feels best. We’ll discuss the weather and a suitable alternative where one is available.

Public opening hours alone don’t confirm permission for an organised photoshoot. Gardens, interiors and other managed places can have extra rules, fees or restrictions. We check the chosen setting before confirming the plan, along with any access needs or transport that affects the route. That leaves you with a clear idea of where you’re going and what to look forward to.
