Thirty years of adventures, a first photoshoot

This American traveller had spent the past thirty years exploring on her own, but had never booked a photoshoot. After living in Lisbon for a while, she wanted beautiful photographs of herself to keep as memories of her time in the city. Her solo photoshoot in Lisbon became a walk from the viewpoints above Alfama to Praça do Comércio and the water, with plenty of different portraits along the way.

Starting above the rooftops of Alfama

The shoot began at Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Miradouro das Portas do Sol. At Santa Luzia, the blue tiles, palms and garden wall brought colour and texture into the photographs. At Portas do Sol, the view opened out over Alfama’s rooftops. Her cream outfit and yellow jacket connected the portraits across both settings, from a smile at the railing to a walk along the cobbled streets.

Under the arches at Praça do Comércio

From the viewpoints, the route continued to Praça do Comércio. The repeated arches and hanging lanterns framed her as she walked towards the camera; tall green doors and yellow walls gave the collection another backdrop. Some photographs take in the full height of the architecture, while closer portraits bring the attention back to her smile. The same walk produced both wide city scenes and photographs that feel more personal.

From city streets to the water’s edge

The shoot also reached the waterfront, where waves splashed against the steps behind her. Alongside the street portraits and rooftop views, these photographs became a way to remember this chapter in Lisbon and celebrate her years of solo adventures.
