A Sunset Photoshoot by Lisbon’s MAAT

Lisbon was already home; this evening was just for them. An Italian-Brazilian couple celebrate their love by the water in the July sunset.

An evening by the water in the city they call home

For this Italian-Brazilian couple, Lisbon was home. They wanted to capture their love in a setting that felt a little different from the city’s familiar streets and viewpoints. A July sunset by the MAAT brought together the water, golden evening light and space for natural moments. Their Lisbon couple photoshoot moved between the building’s curved lines and open river views, keeping the two of them at the centre.

Room to walk, turn and be together

Along the waterfront, they walked hand in hand, smiled at each other and raised their joined hands for a turn. Her blue floral dress brought movement into the portraits, while the river and the 25 de Abril Bridge stretched out behind them. There were quieter photographs too: a close embrace, a kiss and a pause together on the broad steps beside the water.

The MAAT’s curves and the evening river

The MAAT gave the collection another scale. In the wider photographs, the couple appear small beneath the sweep of the building or against an open evening sky. Closer portraits bring the attention back to their faces and hands. On the steps, they sat together beneath the curved facade; at the railing, they looked out over the water with their arms around each other.

From long shadows on the plaza to the staircase and the riverbank, the setting changes throughout the gallery. What ties it together is the same couple: walking, laughing and holding each other close during a summer evening in Lisbon.
