Happily at Home: Ten Years Married in Prague

Fifteen years at home, ten years married

Originally from Belarus, this couple had made Prague their home for fifteen years. They had built a life here with their two children, but had never really had photographs taken together around the city. Their tenth wedding anniversary felt like the right moment to change that. They booked a couple photoshoot in Prague and set aside a morning just for the two of them: a walk, some photographs and breakfast afterwards.

An October morning on Charles Bridge

Early October brought a cold, rainy start. The skies were grey, the stones were wet, and their coats stayed firmly on. None of that stopped us making the most of the morning.

We began on Charles Bridge, walking hand in hand between the statues and pausing for portraits with the towers behind them. After so many years living in Prague, this was a chance to put themselves in the picture, surrounded by the city they knew so well.

A detour through Kampa

From the bridge, we moved to the side steps, where the stone walls and patterned paving gave the photos a different feel. Then we took a short wander through Kampa, stopping by colourful houses and a doorway tucked beneath the bridge.

This was their date morning, away from the children and the everyday routine, with quiet embraces and room to be playful together. Familiar streets became the backdrop to a celebration of their life here.

Umbrellas out in Old Town

By the time we reached Old Town, the umbrellas had become part of the photographs. A patterned red doorway, wet streets and the Astronomical Clock set the scene for the last portraits. Under a shared umbrella, the rain gave us some wonderfully romantic moments.

Eventually it became heavy enough for us to finish earlier than planned. We still came away with a beautiful anniversary collection, and they had breakfast together to look forward to.
