Photographs to send home

After moving from India to Prague, this married couple wanted to share a little of their new life with family back home. An early morning walk with a photographer in Prague gave them photographs of the city they now called home, with the two of them right at the heart of it.

Out into the morning in their coats

They met early, making the most of the soft morning light and quieter streets. A bright red coat and a dark coat brought a warm, personal touch to the old stone surroundings. On Charles Bridge, they walked side by side, held hands beside the river and paused beneath the Gothic archway. The wider frames set them among the towers and rooftops, while the closer portraits caught smiles and a kiss. Prague was the setting for a new adventure they could now show to the people waiting for news from home.

From the bridge to the quieter corners

The walk carried on to the steps beside Charles Bridge. Here, the broad staircase and arched wooden doorway offered a different background, with pale walls making the red coat stand out. They reached towards each other across the steps and sat together on a stone bench. Down beside the water, the view opened back towards the bridge. Photographs taken from behind gave room to the river and the city beyond, keeping a sense of place alongside the portraits.

A glimpse of life together

The finished series mixed big Prague views with smaller moments of closeness. It was a way to remember this beginning themselves and to let family in India see a little of the life they were building together.
