Two countries, one city to come back to

He comes from the Netherlands; she is from Prague. Recently reunited in her home city, this Dutch–Czech couple had something wonderful to celebrate: he had asked her to marry him. Their engagement shoot became a way to hold on to this chapter together, with familiar streets and river views woven into the photographs. Their morning with a photographer in Prague took them from Charles Bridge and Kampa to the heart of Old Town.

An early morning around Charles Bridge

The morning took us around Charles Bridge, where stone towers, cobbled paths and the steps beside the bridge gave the photographs a distinctly Prague setting. We mixed wider frames with closer portraits, letting the architecture set the scene while keeping the couple at the centre. Hand in hand, wrapped up in coats and smiling at each other, they made these grand surroundings feel wonderfully intimate.

Newly engaged by the river in Kampa

Along the Kampa riverbank, Charles Bridge stretched across the background while the mood stayed relaxed and close. This was the heart of the story: a proposal, a ring and two people celebrating what comes next. After the question came the engagement portraits — an embrace beside the water, a kiss, a walk along the river and a little time on a bench together. The ring details deserved a photograph of their own, too.

The Astronomical Clock and Old Town Square

To finish, we headed into Old Town for photographs beneath the Astronomical Clock and across Old Town Square. The clock's detailed dial, patterned paving and the twin towers beyond the square brought a different character to the final portraits. For her, this was her home city; for them, it was now the backdrop to a new shared memory. A few last photographs in the surrounding streets rounded off the morning.
