Two people and a rather good view

A white puff-sleeved dress and a green shirt fitted beautifully into the colours of Philopappos Hill. For this couple’s photographs, we had pale rocks, leafy shrubs and the Acropolis across the hillside to work with. With our Athens photographers, a view like this can become the setting for the smaller moments between two people, too.

An Acropolis view with a personal feel

The landmark is a lovely part of these photographs, but the couple gives the gallery its character. We mixed wider views with closer portraits, bringing in the green of his shirt and the soft shape of her dress. Some frames leave space for the trees and skyline; others keep the Acropolis as a detail just beyond their shoulders. The same setting can feel quite different when the framing changes.

A rock ledge for two

The seated pictures added a softer, more informal side to the shoot. The couple could sit together on the pale rocks, with the hillside stretching out behind them. Paired with the walking photographs and a little twirl, these give the gallery variety without losing its gentle feel. We especially like how the light outfits, warm stone and green surroundings work as one simple palette.

Letting the light change the mood

Away from the closest Acropolis compositions, the trees and warm light gave us another lovely backdrop. There are portraits with plenty of space around the couple, closer embraces and a few photographs that put the landmark itself in focus. The black-and-white frames sit naturally among them. Together, they preserve both sides of this Athens shoot: the recognisable place and the couple’s own time within it.
