A glimpse of life together, for family back home

Originally from India, this married couple had moved abroad for work. They wanted beautiful photographs together to share with their family back home: a way to document this chapter of their life abroad. They chose Fisherman’s Bastion for its iconic architecture and recognisable Budapest views, meeting their photographer in Budapest for an early-morning shoot in autumn.

An autumn morning in Budapest

Lovely weather set the scene for the morning, and their stylish coats fitted the autumn setting beautifully. Her beige trench coat and his dark outfit stood out against the pale stone and open sky. On the terraces, wider photographs placed them against the Budapest skyline, while closer frames brought the focus back to the two of them: holding hands, looking at each other and sharing a smile.

Arches, towers and a walk together

We walked around Fisherman’s Bastion, using its stone arches, pointed towers and terraces as different settings for the photographs. The arches framed an embrace; the walkway beside a tower gave them space to walk hand in hand. Nearby, a square, an ornate church doorway and cobbled streets added more variety. Their trench-coat styling tied the collection together as the architecture changed around them.

Memories to send home

The smaller moments gave this collection its personal meaning: an embrace on the cobbles, a shared look on a stone staircase, a little time spent close together. Alongside the recognisable views of Budapest, these photographs captured the couple themselves and the life they were sharing abroad. They would have a collection of memories to send to loved ones in India, bringing family into this chapter even across the distance.
