A little time together above Budapest

There is something so lovely about a little time together above the city. For this couple photoshoot in Budapest, we made the most of Fisherman’s Bastion’s stone arches, pointed towers and beautiful views across the Danube. The photographs bring together a lovely mix of romance and laughter, with warm stone, dark outfits and Budapest’s skyline setting the scene.

A little romance beneath the arches

The Bastion’s arches make such a beautiful frame for photographs together. We used the wide openings and carved columns to bring plenty of the setting into the portraits, with Parliament appearing across the river beyond them. Their darker outfits stood out beautifully against the pale stone, while the warmer neutral tones complemented its golden colour. It gave this part of the collection a lovely, romantic feel.

Budapest spread out behind them

The terraces brought another side of the shoot, with the Danube, Parliament and the city’s rooftops stretching out in the background. We made photographs beside the carved balconies and stone benches, mixing those beautiful wider views with closer portraits. The light on the stone and the colours in the trees added warmth to the photographs. Alongside the colour images, the black-and-white versions give the same lovely setting a quieter mood.

Room for the little smiles

Around the steps, towers and carved doorways, there was plenty of variety to work with. We kept room for the softer portraits as well as the little moments full of smiles. That mix is what makes this collection so lovely: recognisable Budapest views, beautiful architectural details and photographs where the attention stays on the two of them. A little reminder of how much warmth a shared laugh can bring to a portrait.
