Sofia and Budapest, three weeks between visits, and a little time together around Buda Castle.

Two cities, and time together worth remembering

Some love stories come with a little extra travelling. He lives in Sofia, Bulgaria, and she lives in Budapest, Hungary. They see each other every three weeks, so their time together is something special. For their couple photoshoot in Budapest, they chose Buda Castle, one of their favourite places. They wanted photographs to remember these moments together and look back on until their next reunion.

A favourite place for the two of them

Buda Castle gave us a beautiful setting for a relaxed walk and photographs together. We explored the ornate gateways, stone steps and balustrades, with the palace buildings around us and the city opening up beyond the terraces. There was plenty of variety without losing the feeling of spending time in a place they already loved. We mixed the grand castle views with closer portraits that kept the attention on them.

A splash of blue among the palace details

His bright blue shirt brought such a lovely splash of colour to the photographs, alongside her dark outfit and the warm stone of the palace. The carved façades, wooden doors and sculpted fountain made beautiful backdrops, while the green dome gave the courtyard portraits that unmistakable castle setting. We kept a lovely mix of romantic photographs and more playful ones, with room for their smiles and the little laughs in between.

Memories to take into the next three weeks

The views across the Danube added another lovely part of Budapest to their gallery, with rooftops and the Chain Bridge stretching out below. Alongside the colourful palace photographs, the black-and-white portraits give those moments a different feel. Their shoot was a chance to capture being together in one of their favourite places: something lovely to keep looking back on during the weeks between visits.
