A little Budapest colour, just for her

The Opera and its neighbouring metro station made a lovely pairing for this solo photoshoot in Budapest. We had grand doorways and carved stone above ground, then yellow trains, white tiles and beautiful iron columns below. Her deep red dress tied the two settings together so well, with black boots and a wide belt keeping the look simple. It gave us plenty of colour and character to play with, all around one little corner of the city.

Red against the Opera’s warm stone

We spent time around the Opera’s wooden doors, broad steps and covered arcade. There is so much lovely detail here, from the carved columns to the hanging lamps and patterned paving. The rich red of her dress looked beautiful against the wood and pale stone, while the arches gave the wider photographs a real sense of place. We mixed those architectural views with closer portraits, so the gallery has room for both the setting and her own style.

A splash of yellow at Opera metro station

Inside the metro station, we had a completely different backdrop: white tiled walls, dark ironwork, wooden panelling and those unmistakable yellow trains. Their colour worked so nicely with her dress, and a passing train added a little movement behind the portraits. The bench and long platform gave us some quieter corners too. Outside, a dark jacket and beret brought another look to the photographs beside the curved stone entrance and Földalatti sign. We kept a mix of colour and black and white throughout, letting the red and yellow pop in some images and the station’s lines and textures come through in others.

The yellow train brings another burst of colour to the shoot.
