A little colour above the Danube

Pale stone, pointed towers and a red scarf that brought everything to life. We explored Fisherman’s Bastion with this couple, making photographs on the terraces and in the streets around Matthias Church. Their beige and black outfits looked lovely against the architecture, with that splash of red giving their private photoshoot in Budapest a little extra colour.

Arches with a view

We made the most of the Bastion’s lovely mix of open terraces and sheltered arcades. There is so much variety in one place: pointed towers above you, warm stone all around and Parliament appearing across the Danube through the openings. We used wider photographs to bring that beautiful setting into their gallery. The couple’s red scarf and light coat stand out beautifully against the pale arches, keeping even the wider views personal.

Warm colours and a little contrast

Beige, black and a little red made such a lovely combination for this shoot. Her coat and checked skirt picked up the warm colours of the architecture, while his dark jumper kept the portraits simple. These settings also looked beautiful in black and white, bringing out the shapes of the arches and the texture of the stone. Both styles have a place in this gallery.

Beyond the terraces

The streets around Matthias Church gave us another side of the Castle District. We made photographs beside the carved doorway, under a basket of bright flowers and along a cobbled lane lined with plants. Those smaller corners work so well alongside the big views: you still have that unmistakable Budapest setting, with a more relaxed, everyday feeling. The gallery moves between architecture, open sky and the lovely details that caught our eye along the way.
