Two countries, a wedding in Japan

He was Czech, she was Japanese, and they had recently become engaged. Their next big plan was a wedding in Japan later that year. Before the wedding, they booked an engagement photoshoot in Budapest for pictures they could use on their wedding invitations and other stationery. Fisherman’s Bastion, in beautiful early morning light, became the setting for this little chapter of their international love story.

Morning light at Fisherman’s Bastion

Sunlight warmed the pale stone arches as they explored the terraces together. We photographed them along the walkway towards the pointed tower, beneath the decorative arcade and on the small balcony overlooking the city. The wider photographs brought the architecture and Budapest views into their story. Closer frames caught the two of them looking at each other, holding hands and sharing a kiss in the morning light.

Trainers, checks and their own style

Their outfits gave the photographs a cool, relaxed feel: trainers, coordinated checks and easy layers. They could walk comfortably, sit together on the stone steps and be playful between portraits. One moment had them tucked close beneath an ornate wooden doorway; another caught a jump from the steps. Their casual style felt at home in the grand surroundings, keeping the attention on their connection and the way they were together.

A little Budapest for their wedding invitations

They wanted these photographs to become part of their wedding invitations and related stationery in Japan. It was a lovely way to bring something personal into the wedding plans: their own faces, their own style and a morning they had shared in Budapest. The collection includes warm colour portraits and black-and-white photographs, with both sweeping city views and quieter moments of just the two of them.
