A new chapter, and a morning together

This lovely mum lives just outside Budapest and wanted to capture some special memories with her nine-year-old son as they stepped into their next chapter together. We met them at Fisherman’s Bastion for a morning of photographs among its beautiful stone arches and city views. Their family photoshoot in Budapest was about remembering the two of them at this stage of life: a little time together, and photographs to hold on to as he grows.

A little space for the two of them

Fisherman’s Bastion gave us a lovely setting for their morning together. The pale stone, carved doorways and views across the river made the city part of the photographs, while the closer portraits kept the focus on mum and son. We made room for both: wider pictures that show where they spent the morning, and smaller moments full of their smiles. The black-and-white photographs sit beautifully alongside the colour images, bringing another feel to the same collection of family memories.

Flowers, soft colours and stone arches

Her floral dress brought soft pinks and greens to the pale stone surroundings, and her son’s muted green shirt picked up those colours beautifully. The hanging red flowers added another lovely splash of colour, while the arches and tree-lined stone benches gave us different corners for their portraits. We kept the whole collection about this chapter of their family life. There are photographs together in the city, little smiles between them and a few quieter portraits on the bench: simple memories of mum and her boy, just as they are now.
