An anniversary in the heart of the old town

This couple from South America and Barcelona celebrated their anniversary with a photoshoot in the Gothic Quarter. We explored its narrow streets and little squares together, making photographs among the historic buildings that give this part of the city so much character. It was a lovely setting for an anniversary: old stone, beautiful details and plenty of little corners for a couple photoshoot in Barcelona with the two of them at its heart.

Blue tones and beautiful old stone

Her pale blue floral dress and his blue polo shirt brought soft colour to the Gothic Quarter’s warm stone. Their outfits looked lovely together without competing with the setting, from the carved entrances to the old wooden doors. We made a mix of portraits with the architecture around them and closer photographs that let those colours and textures become a quieter backdrop. The stone bench beneath a decorative picture panel was one of those lovely little corners: full of detail, with room to sit close together.

A little of Barcelona in their anniversary photographs

The neighbourhood gave us such a lovely variety within the same old-town feel. Patterned walls, narrow lanes and the fountain at Plaça de Sant Felip Neri each brought something different to the gallery, while the cathedral added a grander setting. We kept some wide views to include the places around them, alongside portraits and small details from their time together. Those changes of scale make the photographs feel personal to this couple and unmistakably part of Barcelona.
