A lovely way to share their next chapter

This couple had two lovely reasons for a photoshoot: to celebrate their engagement and to create photographs for their save-the-date invitations. We explored the Gothic Quarter together, using its old stone streets, grand doorways and little squares for a romantic Barcelona couple photoshoot. The photographs would give their friends and family a first glimpse of the celebrations to come, with the two of them and a little of Barcelona in every invitation.

A red dress against the old stone streets

Her red dress looked beautiful against the Gothic Quarter’s soft stone colours, while his dark suit and light shirt kept their outfits looking lovely together. We made photographs beneath Pont del Bisbe, around the old wooden doorways and in front of the cathedral. Those settings gave the shoot a wonderful mix of intimate streets and grand architecture. The red brought a little colour to every corner, whether the buildings filled the background or we came closer for portraits of the two of them.

Photographs for the celebrations to come

Their save-the-dates gave the shoot a lovely purpose: photographs to share with the people who will be part of their wedding celebrations. We kept a mix of wider views, closer portraits and small engagement details, including the ring with Pont del Bisbe behind it. Alongside the colour photographs, black-and-white versions bring out the textures of the old town and the connection between them. Together, the photographs celebrate this chapter before the next one begins.

A few favourite corners of the Gothic Quarter

The stone steps at Plaça del Rei and the little fountain of Plaça de Sant Felip Neri added more lovely settings to the session. There was space for photographs with the architecture around them, as well as quieter portraits together. Across the lanes, steps and squares, the gallery keeps the same romantic old-town feel, with plenty of variety for their invitations and their own memories.
