Family memories in a favourite place

For this local family, Barcelona’s beach is already one of their favourite places. They wanted some beautiful photographs together there, so we headed to the sea with the parents and their three children for a sunny midday shoot. With sand underfoot and the W Hotel on the horizon, their Barcelona beach photoshoot had a backdrop that felt close to home.

Palm trees, blue skies and a Barcelona backdrop

The beach gave us plenty to work with: tall palms, a bright blue sea and that unmistakable sail-shaped hotel in the distance. We made some of the family photographs beside the palm trees, where the shadows added lovely patterns across the ground. Their white tops, pink dress and little lilac dress looked beautiful against the soft sand and blue water. The wider photographs leave room for the coastline too, keeping this favourite Barcelona spot part of the memories.

A little time for everyone

Alongside the photographs of all five together, we made room for smaller family combinations. There are lovely portraits of mum with the children, dad with the children and mother and daughter together by the sea. We also took a few photographs just of the parents. That mix gives the gallery a little of everything: the whole family, the children and the two people at the heart of it. A few black-and-white photographs bring a softer feel alongside all that seaside colour.

From the palms to the sand

Closer to the water, the rocks and open sand gave us another lovely setting. We made portraits together by the shore, as well as photographs of the family walking across the beach. It is a simple collection of memories of this stage of family life, made in a place they already love.
