A Barcelona Couple Photoshoot for a Weekend Together

They met on New Year’s Eve and began a long-distance relationship. A weekend in Barcelona brought them together for photographs in Ciutadella Park.

A weekend worth remembering

They first met at an event on New Year’s Eve. He lived in Barcelona; she lived in northern Spain, and their connection grew into a long-distance relationship. This weekend gave them time together in his city, and it was her first visit to Barcelona. Their couple photoshoot in Barcelona at Parc de la Ciutadella became a way to remember the visit, with the two of them at the centre of every setting.

A little space beside the fountain

At the fountain, the stone balustrade leaves room for different kinds of portraits. In some photographs they stand apart and look across towards each other; in others they come together for an embrace. The green water, waterfall and ornate arches give the pictures a recognisable setting, while their linked hands and glances keep the photographs personal. Wider frames make space for the park around them.

From the leafy terraces to the water

The collection also takes in the park’s leafy terraces and stone staircase. There are walks hand in hand, close portraits beside the railing and moments framed by ivy-covered arches. Back beside the fountain pool, the photographs move between full-length portraits and closer embraces. The changes in distance and setting give the gallery variety while keeping the same story running through it: a little time together in Barcelona.

A first visit, remembered together

There was no anniversary or big milestone behind this shoot. Being in the same place for the weekend was reason enough. Colour photographs and black-and-white frames hold on to different details of that visit, from a quiet archway to a simple walk beside the water.
