A little red, a lot of London

A bright red telephone box, classic coats and London all around them: this couple’s Travaya shoot had plenty of character. We photographed them beside the Thames and around Westminster, with Big Ben across the water and that familiar splash of red in the streets. His light jacket and her dark coat looked beautiful side by side, giving their London couple photoshoot a connection from one setting to another.

Together beside the Thames

There’s so much to enjoy about this stretch of the river: the long view of Parliament, the arches of Westminster Bridge and Big Ben rising above it all. We made photographs with those familiar sights around the couple, leaving room for the two of them as well as the city. Her dark coat and little patterned blouse worked beautifully against the pale riverside stone, while his light jacket picked up its warmer tones. Some of our favourite things to photograph here are simply the view and the people sharing it; this pair gave us such a lovely combination of both.

Their own style in familiar places

The red telephone box brought a playful touch to the shoot. Their smiles, the bright paintwork and the lovely sweep of her coat made these photographs feel full of life. We also made portraits through the glass, bringing the two of them close while keeping that unmistakable London detail. The riverside photographs include the heart-covered National Covid Memorial Wall, a place of remembrance beside the Thames. Across these different settings, their clothes and the way they look at one another give the photographs a lovely sense of togetherness. A few black-and-white portraits bring a quieter feel, keeping those little details of this couple at the centre.
