A lovely match for the riverside

Some outfit combinations look especially lovely by the river. Her pale floral dress and his deep blue shirt brought just the right colours to Westminster’s warm stone, with the Thames opening up around them. We photographed this couple with Big Ben and Parliament across the water, bringing a very recognisable piece of the city into their pictures together. It’s a lovely setting for a couple photoshoot in London, with so much character on either side of the river.

Pale florals and a little blue

The colours did so much of the work here. The little floral print brought a softness to the stone surroundings, while his blue shirt stood out beautifully beside it. For us at Travaya, it was a lovely combination to photograph against the warm detail of Parliament and the open river. We made portraits by the riverside wall with the sweep of Westminster around them, as well as photographs that brought the two of them closer. Their outfits kept everything connected, from the grand backdrop to the smaller details of their hands together.

Together, with London all around

Westminster Bridge brought its own character to the shoot: the patterned parapet, the ornate lamps and those long views across the Thames. We photographed the couple beside the stonework and with more of the bridge around them, keeping that lovely link between their colours and the setting. The black-and-white portraits make a beautiful addition, with their smiles and the details of her dress taking on a softer feel. There’s so much of London here, but also plenty that belongs just to these two: their clothes, their smiles and the simple pleasure of a photograph together.
